Rehearsal Attendance

Please note that dancers are only allowed 2 absences from rehearsals. If dancers miss more than 2 rehearsals, make-up rehearsal time will be required and scheduled accordingly if the instructor sees it necessary. Additional rehearsals will be at an extra cost for students who have missed more than two regularly scheduled rehearsals.

Practice Attire

For Nutcracker rehearsals dancers MUST arrive wearing proper attire. This includes hair in a bun, leotards & tights, and ballet shoes. If you are needing to purchase proper attire, please speak with Ms. Carly and she will be happy to assist you.

Headshots

Dancers will be required to have their headshots taken for our program and slideshow, which will be displayed at the show. These cost $30. Our headshots will take place on Sunday, November 16th, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. ALL PARENTS MUST SIGN UP FOR A TIME USING THE BUTTON BELOW. For the photos, dancers should wear light makeup, and a plain gray shirt is preferred. A payment of $30 will be charged to your WDA account on November 16th.

Undergarments Order Form

All dancers will be required to wear proper undergarments for our show. Female dancers are required to wear tights and nude leotards under their costumes. Male dancers will be required to wear a white, form-fitting tank top and black bike shorts as their undergarments. These must be purchased on your own. All female undergarment orders are due on November 30th. Your account on file will be charged.

Dress Rehearsal & Show Information

Dress Rehearsal

Friday, December 19th at 4:45 pm

at Lincoln-way North High School in Frankfort, IL

Dress rehearsal is mandatory for our full Nutcracker cast and all backstage volunteers. Dancers are required to stay for the full dress rehearsal.

All parents must drop off their dancers into the auditorium of the theater. Parents are NOT ALLOWED to stay for dress rehearsal unless they previously signed up as a backstage volunteer.

All dancers must arrive wearing their proper undergarments (nude leotards and tights for female dancers and black bike shorts and a white tank top for male dancers), their ballet shoes and their hair and makeup done. Warm-ups are allowed to be worn over undergarments to arrive...let's keep our dancers warm!

Absolutely NO food is allowed in the theater, and ONLY WATER is permitted.

Important Show Day Details

Saturday, December 20th at 3 pm

at Lincoln-way North High School in Frankfort

Our full Nutcracker cast must arrive at the LWN High School auditorium at 2:15 for the show. All dancers should arrive in their proper undergarments and with their hair and makeup done. Backstage parents for our 3:00 pm show should arrive at 2:00 pm.

Parents, please assist your young dancers with using the bathroom prior to check-in!

Absolutely NO parents or audience members are allowed backstage BEFORE our show or during INTERMISSION. This is to keep all of our dancers safe and accounted for. No cast members will be allowed to leave early, as our entire cast is in the finale.

Dancers will be allowed in the lobby to take photos with their friends and families. After photos, all dancers must return backstage to sign out and to turn in their costumes.

Stage Makeup

Female dancers should wear natural eyeshadow colors, pink lipstick, black mascara, black eyeliner and pink blush. Male dancers should wear black eyeliner, black mascara, pink blush and chapstick.

Please note that makeup can be applied heavier as stage lights make faces appear very pale and washed out.

Dancers will be wearing clear masks onstage and their regular masks prior to the show, so please label their lipstick / chapstick and makeup in a bag for touch ups if needed.

NO NAIL POLISH SHOULD BE WORN!
